Our Home Territory
Chapel of the Hills doesn't serve just one community, but a diverse area. Western North Carolina is a wide-spread region, and our membership reflects that.
Our folks range from
Bryson City to Sylva, Cherokee to Cullowhee.
We anticipate that Jesus will be worshiped by "every tribe and tongue," so, Chapel of the Hills actively reaches out to
-- children and retirees,
-- military veterans and college students,
-- singles and families,
-- those who already worship Christ, and
-- those who simply are trying to figure things out.

How we worship
Cathedrals and elaborate churches are certainly appropriate places for worship.
However, they can be daunting, especially for those who are first exploring about God and who Jesus might be.
The people of Israel first met with God in a tent. The early church met in homes. We think that still works.
Worship out of the "box."
As we grow out of our house church setting,
we may very well meet God in a large tent on a mountainside.
Come and grow with us!
Homes are great places to start a church: convenient, but limited.
Schools and other public buildings work well for many young churches, but there is a lot of set up and tear down.
The idea of a tent started as a joke, but became a serious option. After all, Chaplain Benner has held hundreds of services in them!
